Agenda Sign-in for attendance Lunch today during 4 th period only! You are permitted to leave & restroom breaks during passing period only. No wandering the halls during regular class time. Use this time wisely to prepare for your competition and last minute questions.

Location Saturday, Jan. 30, 2016 Meet at the Longhorn Statue by 6:30 am. DON’T BE LATE! Place: John A. Dubiski Career High School 2990 State Highway 161 Grand Prairie, TX 75052. The Awards Ceremony is scheduled for 5:30pm in the Dubiski Cafeteria

Meals- SELECT YOUR MEAL To accommodate students, the Dubiski Culinary Arts Advisors and Students will be serving coffee, Frappuccino's, smoothies, breakfast, and lunch Bring money to order from Jag Cafe. Menu: menu to share with your students available for purchase: Breakfast: Breakfast Taco $4 - (Egg and Cheese) or (Sausage, Egg, and Cheese) or (Bacon, Egg, and Cheese) Student Breakfast $6 (includes fruit and drink) Two Pancakes, Scrambled eggs, Two strips of bacon Vegan Option: Two Vegan Burritos, Breakfast Potatoes Lunch: Student Lunch $8 (includes fruit and a bottled water) 8" Personal Pepperoni Pizza 8" Personal Cheese Pizza Chicken Strips (4) and fries basket Chicken Quesadilla and Tortilla Chips (includes salsa, guacamole, sour cream) Cheeseburger (lettuce, tomato, pickle, onion) and fries Vegan Hummus Wrap with Pita Chips

Voting Delegates Select TWO (2) voting delegates for each BPA Chapter. (Associate & Secondary) The voting delegates must be in the Library Lecture Hall no later than 3:30pm. Vote on Regional Officers

Desktop Publishing & Digital Publishing Changes Fundamentals of Desktop Publishing and Digital Publishing contests will be held in a Mac Lab with Adobe Software. If a student wishes to use a PC and/or other software, the student will need to bring their own equipment (laptop, printer, cords, etc.). Students utilizing the Mac Lab equipment will be able to print.

Competitive Events Non-Judged events have 60 minutes Judged event participants should report at the initial time of their event to check-in and will be assigned a time. There will be NO OPEN EVENTS due to software & equipment limitations. BE ON TIME AND IN DRESS CODE! Check your time on the schedule & be 10-15 minutes early to your competition. YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO COMPETE IF NOT IN DRESS CODE!

Dress Code DRESS CODE POLICY. Students will not be allowed into their competition if not dressed appropriately. Also, your students will not be allowed on stage if not professionally dressed. We have been informed that dress code should be enforced at all levels (RLC, SLC, & NLC). Review “Dress Code” handout“Dress Code”

Dress Code Professional Dress Code is Required for the Following: Opening Session, Awards Sessions, ALL Competitive Events (judged, non- judged, and open), Women Pant or skirt suit Dress skirt or dress slacks with coordinated blouse and/or sweater Business professional “dress” BPA blazer with dress skirt or dress slacks and blouse or sweater Men Dress slacks, dress shirt, and tie Suit, dress shirt, and tie Sport coat, coordinated dress slacks, dress shirt, and tie BPA blazer with dress slacks, dress shirt, and tie Denim is not allowed and Dress shoes or dress sandals with heel are required. Girls skirts must be no more than 2” above the top of the knee. Professional dress is required. No jeans, t-shirts, or tennis shoes!

Reference manuals Competing in typing event, such as Administrative events (Fundamental Word Processing Skills, etc.), - bring a copy of Style & Reference Manual with you. HR Management- bring copy of HR Manual DO NOT TAKE PRACTICE TESTS! LEAVE THEM AT HOME OR IN YOUR BACKPACK!

Use your contestant number or chapter number for teams on all documents for contests. NAMES OR SCHOOL should NOT be used, except where specified in the WSAP guidelines.

Conference Conduct Adhere to the code of conduct and sign

Practice individual contest – 1 st – 3 rd period Find your folder and begin test when announced You have 60 min. to take your test When finished, check your answers using the answer key Presentation/Group contest will begin 4 th – 6 th period
