Reach out and….JUMP! The Reach out and Read program has done a fantastic job of promoting childhood literacy by handing out free books to children at their well child checks. Consider handing out Jump Ropes at well child checks to promote exercise and fun

Quality Improvement Projects (QI) Give out jump ropes, calculate BMI each visit, monitor for any changes in BMI/Weight % Monitor who uses the Rx for health, any changes in BMI/Weight % Poll pts/parents using a questionnaire to determine the type of information they would find helpful to improve their child’s health from a obesity perspective Organize a “Let’s Move!” 5K run/walk for families Give a pre- and post-test for patients and parents and during the visits, provide nutritional advice Jennifer Yu: Need more QI project ideas.
