9 Defining the family A family by definition, takes many forms and functions, depending upon the culture and society within which it exists. In groups document the different functions families perform.

12 Types of Families Family Structure –Extended Families –Nuclear Families/Traditional –Blended Families/ Step –Gay & Lesbian Families (Same sex) Within each of these types of families we can find positives, negatives and strengths. At present lack of male role models in families and schools is being connected to high violence amongst youth according to specialists and the media.

23 Re Visiting our Family and Community Resource Folders Importance of Identifying the issue and collaborating on the best outcome for the child and family concerned. How could your resources folders assist you when assisting a parent with a concern.
