Amplitude The max. distance the particles move from the “rest position” to: The more energy a wave has → The greater its amplitude Compression or rarefaction Crest or trough OR

Wavelength The distance between two corresponding parts of a wave.

Frequency The number of complete waves to pass a point in a certain amount of time. Measured in hertz (Hz) 1 wave/second = 1 Hz 2 waves/second = 2 Hz

Speed How far a wave travels in a given length of time.
Speed = Wavelength x Frequency If the medium does not change then the speed remains constant. S WL Freq
