India is inhabited by one billion and two hundred thousand people. India is three million two hundred and eighty seven thousand six hundred square kilometers.

T he bottom of the flag looks like an old buddhist symbol. The blue colour represents the sky and the sea. Orange represents the Hindus. Hinduism is a religion that many Indian believers practise. Green represents the muslims.

In nineteen forty seven,India entered the Commonwealth.Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was a political leader of India and a lawyer. He was important in the history of the country because he helped India to take its independence in nineteen forty seven without violence (for example: refusal to pay taxes).
