5. Developing Your Independent Reading In the next few weeks, each of you will be given a reading record to keep up to date and to store in your PSHE folders. This will help you to: Keep a track of the great books you have read; Share ideas with other members of the group and share/receive recommendations of fiction and non-fiction texts; Evaluate the types of books you are reading and to add different genres/text types to broaden your reading experiences if you need to; Demonstrate that you have completed the reading challenges and boost your number of house points. Remember, there is a direct correlation between reading regularly and achieving great results in exams. Reading is a skill and the more frequently you undertake it then the better you will become at it!
