July 2013 Updates: Alma’s News, part 1
2
Alma had a great month, packed with action, as usual. Here she is enjoying her beloved sushi and a fish cake on a stick, too!
3
Active outdoors, always with a smile!
4
And active indoors...
5
Alma makes sure everyone stays active too! Here she is working with dad on the tricky task of bouncing a teddy up and catching him with a large cloth. It’s all about timing!
6
A new game Alma enjoyed a lot: The large cloth is “an elevator”. Alma indicates if we are going up or down (left) and then “presses” the button. When we reach the right floor I announce what’s there (the jumping floor, the crawling floor, the twirling dress floor etc) and she does the correct action. Good active fun!
7
When we arrived at Alma’s first music class we discovered she was the only one who signed up for the 3 years old group! So she got a private lesson from her new lovely teacher, Cathy LawsCathy Laws Here they are playing on everything while listening to background music.
8
Cathy was very impressed with Alma, who did everything with a big smile, stayed fully focused all the time, and despite not speaking English yet, participated in all the songs and finger play.
9
As they couldn’t keep the 3 years old group, Alma was moved to the 4-5 years old group, despite not even being 3 years old yet! She joined that group and participated so well, it was heart- warming to watch. She was the same height as the youngest 4 years old and more focused then some of the older kids... Some made friends with her right away. Here she is sitting on the singing chair, where each kid sits at the end of the lesson and has a chance to sing a nursery rhyme by himself or with a bit of help, to an audience.
10
Listening to a bedtime story on Skype, read by grandpa Ido.
11
The stickers obsession relaxed a bit, and she kept busy on her own with funny faces, dress ups and matching shapes and colours.
12
Combining Alma’s interest in sticky stuff and love of movement: sticky tape sports! Walking forwards, backwards, sideways, balancing, beginning cart wheeling, tiptoeing and even a giraffe...
13
Exploring aluminium foil: etching touching, and wrapping to make a bracelet
