Electronic Bidding Legislation allowing Electronic Bidding is passed in 2001. August 2001: Contractor Training = 52 Companies are trained. November 2001: 2 nd Training Session =22 Companies are trained. January 2002: Mn/DOT receives first E-bids. Currently 76 Companies have been trained and bids have been received from 60 different companies.

Electronic Bid Submittal “2004” 72% of all bids received are submitted electronically. The dollar value of the electronically submitted bids equals 90% of all bids received. All bids over 4 million dollars have been submitted electronically.

Electronic Bidding Electronic bid system (3 rd party website, bid bond function and bid retrieval console) has been operational 100% of the time. All electronic bids have been received and there have been no errors. Mn/DOT has saved money: 1. No bid errors 1. No bid errors 2. Decrease in keypunch costs 2. Decrease in keypunch costs 3.
