1 ISCP The Essentials for Trainers and Trainees Raymond Marlborough,RCS Regional Coordinator – East of England Laura Johnston,Core Trainee – East of England

2 Purpose of Session For Trainees To know the who, what, how and when of recording your training using the ISCP website. For Trainers To know how to set objectives using the Learning Agreement and how to record progress towards those objectives.

3 Trainee Responsibilities Complete trainee timeline. Fill in placement details. Read global objectives and use as template for learning agreement objectives. Meet with AES at least 3 times 1 st : Agree learning agreement 2 nd : Interim Review(Can be done electronically) 3 rd: Final Review

4 Trainee Responsibilities Complete WBAs and other forms of evidence as required by the global objectives and your learning agreement. Present the evidence to your AES at your interim and final meeting so your progress against topics can be evaluated.

5 Trainer Responsibilities Be familiar with the global objectives set by the programme director. Know what the placement can offer towards completing the global objectives. Create a learning agreement in consultation with the trainee that maximises the opportunities in the placement.

6 Trainer Responsibilities Meet with trainee at least 3 times 1 st : Agree learning agreement 2 nd : Interim Review(Can be done electronically) 3 rd: Final Review At the Interim review and Final review meetings mark topics completed or in progress on the evidence presented by trainees. Complete AES report that feeds into the ARCP process.

7 Practicalities for trainees Trainee History & Placements

8 Trainee Learning Agreement The learning agreement is linked to placement Any topics that are in the global objective will be automatically loaded into the learning agreement. Topics suitable to the placement can then be selected from those listed. Bringing a draft LA to your objective setting meeting is good practice.

9 Trainee Learning Agreement

10 Learning agreements should be tailored to the placement, key to this is selecting the correct topics and appropriate actions. Topics should be assessed as complete or in progress in the interim & final meetings. AES report should be completed after the final meeting so this can feed into the ARCP process. 11 Learning Agreement -Trainers

12 Marking topics complete or in progress is key to the process. The LA must be accessed from the trainers account. Can only be done in the interim or final meeting stages. Hover mouse cursor here

13 Passing ARCP Complete LA for each placement including CS Report and AES Report. Topics in LA have progress recorded. 1 Minipat/MSF every 12 months. 12 WBAs each for the compulsory WBA types with minimum of 50% with consultants. Logbook with good numbers.
