Background Info Continuous movement of the earth’s water What creates energy that causes surface water from land and oceans to evaporate? Evaporation = invincible water When water vapor cools, it condenses into water droplets or ice crystals

Background Info Precipitation is when the water droplets get too heavy and they fall back to the earth in 4 different forms. Accumulation is the gathering of water in lake and rivers. Aquifer is an underground layer of rock which contains and transmits water

Materials Ziploc bag Permanent marker Gravel Water Pencil Observation chart (learning log) Ruler

Procedure Names on upper corner of bag Draw a line 1” from the bottom of the bag (ground level) Quickly draw an outdoor scene above the ground (sun, clouds, hills, lakes, trees, etc.) Label bottom of bag, aquifer

Procedure Add gravel Add water Close bags Mount on window Create observation chart Observe throughout next several days
