Case control studies Project done by Nayah James, Sam Diaz Matthew Cedillo, And Miguel Rodriguez
2
How are they? These studies are retrospective studies, this means that they require to look back in time or require for the people conducting the experiment to look at the records.
3
Is there anything bad with this type of experiment Well, it really just requires a bit more work. This is because of the fact that the people who are involved in looking at past records. Plus the people being asked the questions have to be telling the truth in the responses. BUT an advantage is that these experiments are really cheap to do, and can be done very quickly.

Example: cell phone usage on brain cancer. It was a total of 469 men and women of ages 18 – 80 with primary brain cancer in 422 match controls without brain cancer. What we are trying to figure out are the risks by brain cancer compared to the usage of cell phones in hours per months and years of use. Since case control requires to look back then it was require to find out the time usage of using your cellphone. We broke it down in parts as gender, age, total education, race, occupation. The results were that cell phone usage had no affect on brain cancer.
