What is fire? Fire is the flame, light, and heat given off when something is burning.

When is a fire most likely to occur? A fire is most likely to occur when: leaving stove on, leaving unattended cigarettes, playing with matches, leaving electronic appliances on, leaving oven on, and leaking gas.

What causes a fire? Fire forms when heat and gas combine to make flames.

How can we prevent or be prepared for a fire? You can prevent or prepare for a fire by having a fire extinguisher in the house, a fire escape plan, a fire alarm, and practice fire drills.

How can you keep yourself safe during a fire? When a fire comes stop, drop, and roll, go to the nearest fire exit, get out of a burning house as fast as you can. You should always stay calm and don’t panic. Also, keep a first aid kit.

What are the effects of a fire? Some fire effects are: people get hurt/killed, people and animal homes are ruined, animals and plants get hurt and burnt.

How can we recover from a fire? We can recover from a fire by: cleaning up the mess, helping build new houses, medical treatment, and with an insurance company.

How does a fire affect the environment? Fire pollutes air with its smoke. It burns and ruins nature such as trees. It burns houses near by, and it ruins apartment buildings.
