2 Definition: involves repeating a design from a specially prepared surface. Types of Printmaking: 1.Relief Printing – the process of making prints from linoleum, metal or stone that has been carved away leaving a raised surface. 2. Stencilling – a hard porous clay body used in ceramics that is fired at a temperature higher than that for earthenware but lower than porcelain. 3. Serigraph – aka silkscreening; an original colour print produced by the silkscreen process. 4. Lithography – type of printmaking involving transferring an image onto paper from a flat surface such as limestone or metal. 5. Intaglio– aka etching; method of making prints, in which the paper takes the ink that has been pressed into grooves made into the printing plate
