1. Character Analysis

2.  Find 3-5 images that represent that character. Insert them onto a word document. Make one image colored and dominant. The other images should be water marked with text over and around them.

3.  Include assertions of many aspects of characterization:  Physical description  Interactions with others  Dialogue  What other say or think about them  Actions and beliefs  How a character changes  The fate of the character

4.  Include support from the text in the form of quotes. Be sure to use single quotes correctly if someone is speaking.  Be sure the quotes you pick are well-chosen and reveal the most significant aspect of the character.  Be sure you cover the character through out the entire story.

5.  Include the purpose or function of the character in the story and in the microcosm of the world. What do they represent? What is the message?

6.  Assertions are accurate and insightful about the character. They are easily provable and get at the heart of the person.  The character analysis covers the entire novel, highlighting what is most important about the character.  Quotes are revealing and well chosen and span the entire novel.  Layout is organized and easy to read. Color and organizational strategies are used and make the information easy to access.

7.  The group divides the task and makes each person’s responsibility clear.  The group can make changes to roles as the project advances to insure completion and high level success.  All group members work without being prompted by the teacher.  The group has high standards and aspires to create a quality project.
