Perspective Vanishing Point The single point on the horizon where all the lines on the ground level seem to come together Horizon Line The place where the land and the sky meet. Orthogonal Line

Perspective Can you locate the Horizon Line? How did you determine this? Can you find the vanishing point in this picture?

DIRECTIONS: 1.Place large white paper in landscape postion 2.Lifting the bottom corners up to meet the top corners, fold your paper in half. 3. Center your name on the bottom half of the paper using block, squared off letters. example: Start with the letter in the middle of your first name: Tip2: create one block letter at a time so you better plan for the space needed Tip 1: If you aren’t use to making block letters, start with regular capital letters and create the block around them.

1.Unfold paper 2.Use artist’s eye to locate middle of top of page – pencil in your one vanishing pt. 3.Using a straight edge (ruler), draw straight Lines from top side of letter to the vanishing point. 4.Show the thickness of your letters by placing a horizontal line above the top of each letter.

Color the face of your letters lighter than the tops of them. Decorate your page.
