1. APES “Captain Ozone” Extension Opportunity
Due: Friday, January 22nd, 2016
It is important to note: if you have not turned in all regular credit assignments, your extra credit will not be graded.

2. Captain Ozone and the Evil Dr. UV
You will create a comic book that depicts how ozone protects us from UV rays. Use the storylines provided as your framework.
Your characters: Captain Ozone, Dr. UV, and the CFC gang. Additional characters welcome.
Your comic should be in color
Your comic should contain at least 9 storyboards (scenes) with pictures and writing
Your story needs to be scientifically accurate (you need to accurately include what ozone does and how CFCs destroy it for full credit!)
Be creative! What weapons or skills could each hero have to fight the other? What might happen AFTER Ozone has been destroyed? Why is Ozone fighting hard to protect the Earth- what is he saving? ?
You may create your comic book with a classic style (lots of little scenes at a time)…
Or design an all new layout.

3. Storyline 1: Captain Ozone Thwarts the Evil Dr. UV
Use 3-4 storyboards
Introduce Capt Ozone
Introduce evil Dr. UV
Show the concept of an ozone shield blocking harmful UV rays from breaking through the atmosphere in your story
Dr. UV must survive for the next storyline!

4. And then…Storyline 2: Dr
And then…Storyline 2: Dr. UV and the Horrible CFC Gang Defeat Captain Ozone
Use 5-6 storyboards (at least!)
Dr. UV hooks up with the CFC gang, they plot to destroy Captain Ozone
Show how CFCs interact with UV rays in your story
Ultimately, Captain Ozone is broken down by members of the CFC gang
Chaos ensues without Captain ozone to protect the earth
