Flyer- Promotional document used to advertise a product or service Announcement- Promotional document used to inform an audience of an upcoming event Flyer- Message should be brief and to the point, free of clutter, not too much text or graphics. Plan and design your document to include: Focus, balance, proportion, contrast, consistency, directional flow, color

Insert Picture Image Control—Automatic, Grayscale, Black & White, Watermark More/Less Contrast More/Less Brightness Crop Line Style Text Wrapping Format Picture Set Transparent Color Reset Picture Less contrast- Grayer, flatter picture More contrast- More black and white Brightness- Darken or brighten a picture Compress- Reduce size of selected picture Transparent color- Double click on image, change fill color, change transparency color Text wrapping- Practice by entering sample text =rand() and then press enter. Choose text wrapping options. Choose advanced layout options. Size picture by selection handles or double click and type in specific height width, or percentages Lock aspect ratio- Keeps picture in proportion

Editing a Picture Select picture
Right-click and then click Edit picture Ungroup the picture Regroup the picture Change colors Office 2003 comes with a program called Microsoft Office Picture Manager. This allows you to organize collections of image files. You can compress and resize images and perform image-editing tasks with photographs. You can convert images to alternative formats (bitmap to jpeg or gif) Click Tools- Options- Edit tab to change to Microsoft Word or Photo Editor Right click on image, then choose Edit Picture to ungroup, then select image and regroup.

Downloading Online Clips
Click the Clips Online hyperlink Click the Clip Organizer hyperlink then click Clips Online button Key URL: At Design Gallery Live, search using a keyword Images with small yellow star in bottom right corner indicates image is animated graphic. They are usually formatted in GIF format and cannot be ungrouped and edited in Word. Images with a globe in bottom left corner indicates image is located online.

Select check box for desired image then click download hyperlink Downloaded clips are stored in folders within My Collections
