Criss-cross Rally A hits the shuttle for B to catch, B hits the shuttle for D to catch. D hits the shuttle for C to catch, C hits the shuttle for A to catch. One point is scored for each successful hit and catch, a bonus point is scored for a completed cycle with no drops. The receiver picks up the shuttle if the cycle breaks down.

Hole in One A feeds B six shuttles, B hits shuttle (promote forehand grip) towards target. After six shots have been completed A and B swap places. C feeds D six shuttles, D hits backhand stroke (promote backhand grip) towards target. After six shots have been completed C and D swap places. When each child has hit six shots the pairs swap places. One point is scored for each shuttle that hits the target, with a bonus point for all six hitting the target.

Rapid Retrieve A runs to red spot, picks up a shuttle, places it in one of the yellow spots, and then runs to the end of the line behind D. As soon a A tags D, B runs to collect a shuttle and so on. When the cycle is completed and D returns to the end of the line, A runs to a yellow hoop, collects a shuttle and returns it to the red spot before joining the end of the line. As soon a A tags D, B runs to collect a shuttle and so on. One point is scored for each shuttle correctly placed on the spot markers throughout the activity.

Target Practice A and B stand behind the service line and hit underarm towards their target. After six shots C and D collect the shuttles and change places with their partner. Five points are scored for each shuttle which land in the bowl (yellow), two points are scored for each shuttle which land in the large hoop (red). Shuttles must land and stay within target areas to scores points. PROGRESSION: 1. Target distance increased by A hitting towards target D, B hitting towards target C. 2. Decreasing the size of the target area.

Hoop Rally A serves through hoop, C catches the return. Following six serves and catches the children rotate positions clockwise, another set of six is completed and so on. One point is scored for each serve that passes through the hoop and one point is scored for each catch. (SAFETY: Children holding hoop must face each other and not look at hitters)

Shadow Rally A moves towards blue cone to catch feed from D and throw back over the net into hoop target. A then moves backwards towards red cone where they complete a shadow overhead throw. A then sidesteps towards yellow cone before joining the end of the line. When D has fed three shuttles they change places with A, who feeds three shuttles before changing with B, and so on. One point is scored for each complete cycle by a child and one point is scored for each clean catch.

All Change A throws shuttle underarm to C and then changes places with B. C throws the shuttle to B and then changes places with D. B throws the shuttles to D and changes places with A and so on. Children count out loud the number of passes completed, and record their highest score.

Shuttle Cricket A feeds the shuttle to B, who hits for C to catch. The shuttle is then returned for A to feed B again, who hits for D to catch. Six points are scored for every catch made inside the tramlines. Two points are score for every catch made where a child has to move from the tramlines. After two shots have been played children rotate one position clockwise. PROGRESSION: Change the position of the fielders in the tramlines and incorporate out of bound zones where shuttles cannot be caught.
