1.1 : Definition of Hardware Physical components of computer is called hardware. Or Basically Computer hardware refers to the physical aspects of the computer; the computer parts that are tangible and can be touched. 1/9/14

There are many hardware devices that comes in our daily use but some of them are as following. Monitor. Mouse. key board. processor. printer. audio speakers. 1.2 : COMMON HARDWARE DEVICES

1/9/14 1.3 : Definition of Hard Disk A rigid magnetic disk fixed permanently within a drive unit and used for storing computer data. Hard disks generally offer more storage and quicker access to data than floppy disks do. 1.4 : Definition of Floppy Disk A flexible plastic disk coated with magnetic material and covered by a protective jacket, used primarily by computers to store data magnetically. Also called diskette. 1.5 : Definition of Processor A processor is the logic circuitry that responds to and processes the basic instructions that drive a computer. The term processor has generally replaced the term central processing unit (CPU). The processor in a personal computer or embedded in small devices is often called a microprocessor.

A network administrator may monitor network traffic, which means he watches the traffic to make sure the bandwidth usage is within a certain limit and checks to see what external sources may be attempting to access the network. Software programs may monitor the system's CPU performance as well as RAM and hard disk usage. 1.7 : Definition of Keyboard As the name implies, a keyboard is basically a board of keys. Along with the mouse, the keyboard is one of the primary input devices used with a computer. The keyboard's design comes from the original typewriter keyboards, which arranged letters and numbers in a way that prevented the type-bars from getting jammed when typing quickly. This keyboard layout is known as the QWERTY design, which gets its name from the first six letters across in the upper-left-hand corner of the keyboard. Ref : Google, Yahoo, Ask

2.1 : Definition : The programs and other operating information used by a computer. Software Components
10
2.2.1 : System software is a software that deals directly with the architecture of the computer hardware. Operating system is a system software. 2.2.2 : Application software is a software that interacts with end users and basically does whatever end user is working on. Application software does NOT deal with the architecture of a computer. 2.2.3 : " Program" has the connotation of being a discrete unit, and while it is used interchangeably with "application", it seems awkward to refer to a "web program" instead of a "web app", or a "client/server program", instead of a "client/server app". "Program" is often used to refer to a complete operational unit as seen from a developer rather than a user perspective (it seems old-fashioned to refer, as a user, to installing a "program" instead of an "app"), and often for things that are not intended for public use, such as a testing program or proof of concept program. 2.2 :Differences Between System Software, Application and Programming
