ConflictT-P-S What do you think of when you hear the word conflict? When we talk about a conflict in a story, what do we mean? Have you ever read a story that had no conflict? What would a story with no conflict be like? Name a children’s story and what the big problem that the main character has to deal with (like The Three Pigs, Cinderella)

Types of ConflictT-P-S Name the types of conflict: ▫ ▫ ▫ ▫ At the beginning of this novel, what would you say is a conflict for Wallace Wallace? What type of conflict is this? What conflict launches the action of the story? What kind of conflict is it?

Listening Listen to pgs 123-128 Listen to think aloud. T-P-S Why do you think Cavanaugh showed up at Wallace’s house during the leaf raking? Since Cavanaugh is not one of the narrators in this story, we don’t get to see things from his point of view. Do you think Cavanaugh may be dealing with a conflict?

When he talks to Cavanaugh on page 128, Wallace compares the football team to the drama club. What does he say about the effort of each group?
