Discussion Boards ~ “DB’s” Requirement of 2 ~ 100+ word minimum posts Check out the DB Rubric in the Doc Share for quality standards. There are two (2) questions each week….. Yes…. Two / TWO / 2 DB questions……!!!! !!!! !!!! DB Weeks: 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9 Your initial posting should ideally be posted before every Saturday night at 11:59 p.m. The purpose of this is to have everyone get their posting done so your classmates will be able to respond to that posting as opposed to your initial & follow up postings being Tuesday night at 11:55 pm. That does not allow for very good class interaction.

Seminars Seminars will be in Weeks #1 - #2 - #3 - #4 - #6 - #7 - #8 - #9 Attendance is required If not, I need to know beforehand… Participation is key for a good score in class! Be considerate of your fellow students. Be prepared from your readings Be professional in all your comments Stay on task or the topic – limit chatting and sidebars Please understand – there is a time delay for me
10
Uh-Oh ~ What if I Miss a Seminar Seminar Paper Required if you are unable/do not attend the Seminar for that week. 300 word minimum – 500 words. You will receive less points if you do not submit the minimum but no penalty for overwriting. Make sure the posting is pertinent to the seminar of the week. Stay on point….. Proper grammar, spelling, no typos etc must be the key.
11
Class Projects Please be sure to make sure you read the instructions thoroughly… They are designed to get you into a “Critical Thinking” mode and mindset… Please proofread your work before submitting. Do NOT write the questions back in the narrative in your papers – used by many as filler. Points will be taken off for typos, grammar, misspells, paper length etc.
12
Class Projects & Papers Whatever you submit – will be the final copy….. So please assure that it is not from another class nor mistakenly loaded. 3 page report = 3 typed pages + cover + reference page – not 1 page report + cover/reference page. Use APA style + use KU Writing Center for help.

Ethics in Public Service Higher Standards & Double Standards Edwin J. Delattre When a person voluntarily accepts a position of public trust, he takes on new obligations. If he does not want to live up to them, he is free to decline the job. Not only is this fair demand; granting authority without expecting public servants to live up to it would unfair to everyone they are expected to serve. Raise the salaries if jobs merit higher pay but not in expectation of buying integrity. Nobody sells that. People who have it give it for free.
