What is the problem? Per USDA all participants < 12 months old – Must receive an infant food package – Must be counted as an infant for participation reporting purposes

How is participation counted? By Voucher Issuance – Voucher(s) issued (not voided) = counted – Participant type is based on WIC type sent with VMARS voucher printing request

How is the issue being fixed? Infant certified at > 6 months – First child package issued after 12 month – Based on First Day to Use Date on Voucher Date of Birth12/17/14

How is it being Fixed? Example: 11 month old certified as child (child first cert) – Added a new field in the front end WIC system to enter “Infant’s Last Food Package” – Feeding Type Required CPA FPCC09 Infant Last Food PackageP17 Feeding TypeS

How will this Work? The first set of vouchers for 11 month old certification will be for the food package entered in “Infant’s Last Food Package” line – First Day to Use is before first birthday All other vouchers for the certification will be for the food package entered in “CPA FPC” Date of Birth 12/17/14
