Population in Norway: 4 980 000 Norwegian Knowledge Centre for Health Services is responsible for the first investigation on patient injuries ever done in Norway 15% of all patients in 2010 were damaged in the hospital 10 % of deaths last year were caused by hospital errors = 4,500 deaths Probably half of the deaths (2000 patients) could have been avoided with better practices, better hygiene, and with higher priority of the patient’s safety.

Norway has one of the world’s best health care system One of the countries spending the most money on health pr. citizen in the world 130 billion NOK were spent on healthcare in 2010 (390 billion CZK ) The figures were expected after comparing with international numbers 2000 deaths that could have been easily avoided: A reasonable number or unacceptable?
