2
COMPUTER A programmable electronic device that can store, retrieve and process data. An electronic machine that can be programmed to accept data (input), and process it into useful information (output). Data is put in secondary storage (storage) for safekeeping or later use. The processing of input into output is directed by the software, but performed by the hardware.

Computers can be broadly classified by their speed and computing power: Personal computer Workstation Minicomputer Mainframe Super computer
4
Laptops Portable and compact personal computer with the same capabilities as a desktop computer. Laptop computers provide users the ability to run the machine using an internal battery or an outside power adaptor. However, it can run for a short time on batteries.
5
Laptops are classified into the following based on their uses:
Traditional laptop Subnotebook Netbook Convertible Laplet Sony VAIO P series subnotebook Apple MacBook Pro, a laptop with a traditional design Microsoft Surface Pro 3, a typical laplet Samsung Chromebook netbook Lenovo X61 convertible laptop
6
Servers A server is a computer that provides data to other computers. It may serve data to system on a LAN or WAN over the internet. The hardware components that a typical server computer comprises are similar to the components used in less expensive client computers. Server computers are usually built from higher-grade components than client computers.
7
Tower Server : A computer intended for use as a server and built in an upright cabinet that stands alone. The Cabinet is known as Tower. Rack Server : A computer dedicated to use as a server and designed to be installed in a frame work called a rack. The Rack contains multiple mounting slots called bays. Blade Server : A server chassis housing multiple thin modular electronics board called server blades.

Uses of Computers and laptops
Uses of work computers Word processing System management Video conferencing Uses of home computers Communicating Entertainment Downloading data Education The biggest advantage a laptop enjoys is portability. It is capable of any function a standard desktop computer performs.
10
USES OF SERVER Stores and retrieves data
In the workspace to create domains for users Provides database services It is used for sharing of files To send commands and receive responses along with data contents Dedicated to running certain software applications A central search point

COMPUTERS PROCESS DATA BY MEANS OF BINARY SYSTEM
All data in a computer system must be reduced to a string of binary digits. The process of converting data from other formats into binary digits is called digitization.

In the revolution of miniature of computers, the scientists are ahead with Bluetooth technology...

This pen sort of instrument produces both the monitor as well as the keyboard on flat surfaces from where you can just carry out the normal operations you do on your desktop.

Flexible displays Your laptop, tablet, or e-reader may soon have a flexible display rather than a rigid glass screen that can break too easily. The Skiff Reader, a Kindle-like device designed for newspaper and magazine content has bendable "metal foil" e-paper display.

Future Computers Could Express Ideas Like Humans
The program-dubbed Communicating with Computers (CwC) — aims to get computers to express themselves more like humans by enabling them to use spoken language, facial expressions and gestures to communicate.
23
Napkin PC It consists of a series of pens with shortwave radio frequency, a computer base station (probably in the napkin holder), and several "napkins" that are in fact multitouch, color e-paper surfaces. Users in a workgroup setting could use a fresh napkin to scribble down every new idea.

A Future Internet Might Not Use Servers
The idea is to remove the concept of the URL from the internet. In fact, the researchers explain that online searches would stop looking for URLs (Uniform Resource Locators) and start looking for URIs (Uniform Resource Identifiers). URIs, then, specify where data is—and where to go in order to find it—rather than being the single point of call.
