Figure out your means of delivering your lesson. (i.e. PowerPoint, Prezi, Word Document, Software Demo, Whiteboard lesson, etc.) Determine how you will record your lesson. Find a way to share your lesson. http://flippedcalc.wikispaces.com/

I use flipcharts every day, so I record my lesson by giving notes and working through problems on a flipchart. I talk while I write, just as I would in class. If I normally used a PowerPoint, I would record myself clicking through the PowerPoint, again, talking about each slide, just as I normally would in class. Do you write on a board? Without a computer? Set up a camera…maybe a flipcam…and record yourself teaching.

I use Camtasia Studio. This is purchased software. Screencast-o-matic is definitely the free web- based recorder I would use (and still do!). On the following slide you will see what the free version includes versus the Pro version – which is only $15 per year! With whatever recording option you choose, simply select record full screen, check your microphone, and start recording. When I am finished, I upload (to screencast.com or screencast-o-matic), then use the code to embed it into my site.

I use a wiki to host my lessons. The link to the class wiki is on Edline. The home page instructs the students how to best use the lessons. I have a page for each chapter, and a table of contents on each chapter page for the students to easily navigate to the appropriate lesson. The discussion tab at the top of each page can be used for students to interact with each other…to ask and answer questions.

I use wikispaces.com: http://www.wikispaces.com/content/teacher http://www.wikispaces.com/content/teacher To put your video on your wiki: Edit the page Widget Other Paste the “embed code” from your video-hosting site If you title each video with a section name in a “Heading” style, it will appear in a table of contents.
