6  1230 AM  All positions riding up, 10 years experience.  Dispatched Engine and Med Unit.  PD can see patient slumped against window.

7  Incident located in a park. Vehicle was found by PD. As the PD officer approached the vehicle he noticed a rotten egg smell (pungent odor) and read the posted signs signaling responders to be aware of chemicals.  Attempted to open the door however, officer backed away after encountering the notes.

10  All positions riding up, 10 years experience.  Dispatched to the report of woods fire between Walmart and Apartment Complex.  Knowing the terrain, the woods area sits above the Walmart roof. However, unsure of distance between buildings or potential fire load.  1300

11  Dispatch advises that a man is on fire running through the woods.  Engine and Med Unit (Out of Station) dispatched.  Upon arrival units find approximately 1 acre involved, mostly pinestraw and underbrush. Light wind 5-10 mph. One patient is found lying supine on the ground screaming with 20 or so people standing around.

14  All positions riding up.  Engine and Second-In Ambulance dispatched to individual trapped in machine. Patient is alert and conscious, but arm is pinned inside of conveyer.  1930

18  Saturday, 1200 P.M.  Responding to Single Family Dwelling fire. First on scene is mutual aid from neighboring department. Size up includes fire on Side C first floor, extending into the second floor.

24  Dispatched 2245, smoke coming from a BBQ restaurant adjacent to a furniture store. Building construction of strip shopping center is true masonry built prior to 1970’s.

25  Dispatched @ 2245 hours  Company 12 on scene 2249 hours  2259 hours 1 story smoke inside structure  2310 hours- fire in furniture store  2317 – working fire in furniture store  2326 – knockdown main body of fire, still encountering heavy smoke  2335 – Defensive Operation  Fire vented through roof, 75% involvement

26  Fire in furniture store – 21 minutes after arrival  Located fire in furniture store – 28 minutes after arrival  Partial knockdown – 37 minutes after arrival  Defensive Operation – 46 minutes after arrival

31  Why create TDG?  What is the benefit?

32  Prepare  Review Frequency and Severity  Ask IC’s what incidents cause the greatest problems and why.  Apply pictures, set a time limit (adds stress), develop a story line, and set parameters.  Apply reality with PPE, radio, etc….

33 You have three minutes to read the scenario and answer the questions. Your engine and ambulance are dispatched to a hazardous materials incident with a possible fatality. PD is onscene and walked into a pungent odor. They also advise that there is a note with the following “Hydrogen Sulfide – one breath will kill you.” You are the seat rider with a two year relief driver and rookie firefighter.
