Fertile Crescent A. shaped like a quarter moon B. covers present day Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, and Israel The modern countries with land inside the Fertile Crescent are Iraq, Kuwait, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Israel, Turkey and Iran. II. Tigris and Euphrates Rivers A. The rivers made life possible B. Both rivers begin in the Taurus Mountains and end in the Persian Gulf C. The rivers reach a plateau in northern Iraq
