Listening & skimming Para 1: Para 2: Para 3: Para 4: Para 5: We communicate with people not only by words but also by body language. Body language varies from culture to culture. The same body language has different meanings in some different countries. Some gestures are universal. Smile is the best example of universally understood body language.

Scanning 5. Sometimes we say one thing but our body language says something different. Why does this happen ? Can you think of examples? Body language varies from culture to culture. It means “great” or “good job” in the USA. It means rude in Nigeria. It means No.1 in German & Japan.

How to tell whether she likes you : Her skin becomes red while being around you. Her crossed leg is pointed towards you. She raises or lowers the volumes of her voice to match yours. She winks ( 眨眼 ) you while talking to you or winks at you from a distance. She put her fingernail ( 指甲 ) between her teeth. She twirls (缠绕) her hair around her fingers while looking at you. Biting of the lips or showing of the tongue. Licking (舔) her lips.
