3  Visualizing can also work with summarizing and making inferences.  Page 12 of The World of Weather: The author tells how the Earth moves around the sun. I want to summarize this information. I’m imagining myself in a spaceship, and I visualize following Earth around the sun. I see that Earth is also spinning as it moves around the sun. Visualizing helps me form a summary: Earth moves around in two ways. The way Earth moves helps create the seasons.  Page 15: How does visualizing help you summarize the selection? What other strategies can you use?

10 There’s so much to see and do at the amusement park. You can hear the roar of the huge, tall roller coasters and the riders screaming as they coast downhill. Calliope music plays at the colorful carousel. When you walk around the park, you can smell freshly popped popcorn. You can also sample interesting food from different cultures. The park has a big fountain that sprays water on visitors as they walk by. I like going to the amusement park.
