Corey and Bryia are going on a cruise. The tickets cost 395.50 per person and they want to pay for Mrs. Klar and her family to go with them. How much will this cost them.
3
My equation to the problem is: Y = 395.50x or f(x) =395.50x X= the total # of people Y= the total cost of the tickets
4
The independent variable is x which is the number of people going on the cruise. The dependent variable is my y which is the total cost of everyone going on the cruise. We all should know that y DEPENDS on x. That means that the total cost DEPENDS on the number of people going on the cruise.
5
x 395.50x y (x, y) 1 395.50(x) $395.50(395.50, 1) 2 395.50(x) $791.00(791.00, 2) 3 395.50(x) $1186.50(1186.50, 3) 4 395.50(x) $1582.00(1582.00, 4) 5 395.50(x) $1977.50(1977.50, 5)
6
Domain is the x value. Range is the y value. My domain is (1,2,3,4,5) My range is (395.50, 791.00 1186.50 1582.00, and 1977.50)
7
Since my data contains points and no lines, then it is a discrete graph. You can’t buy 1.5 tickets, you can only buy the tickets by 1, 2, 3, and so on. So we will not use any of the numbers that are between 1 and 2.
8
A function is where there is one independent (x) value paired with exactly one dependent (y)value. This means that the x values Can’t ever ever repeat. Because my X’s do not repeat that means it’s a function.
10
Depending on the amount of people that went with Corey and Bryia, it could cost for just for them would be 791 $ with up to 3 of there friends 1977.50$. That’s all without room service and beach excursions hmmm I wonder no I’ll save all that for next tim.
