7.  If you’ve had previous education, ensure that everything you are highlighting on your resume points toward Process Operations/Power Engineering  For example, if you have a previous education as an Engineer, your resume should not read as a resume for an engineering position. 23.  PERFECT spelling & grammar (if this is not your strong suit, ask an English Prof if he/she would be willing to review your cover letter & resume for you.  Keep the focus on what you have to offer the employer NOT what the employer can offer you.  On average, 2 out of every 3 applicants will not get an interview. Make sure your resume/cover letter is not the reason you did not make the cut!  Pay attention to things like:  Do you have the proper spelling of the person you are addressing the letter to?  Have you used the proper name of your program?: CHEMICAL PRODUCTION & POWER ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY POWER ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY
