Landing Site: Utopia Planitia Reasons for choice of site: Possibilities of water or water deposits Cooler temperature for collecting or gathering water samples. Good site for testing out soil samples Little to no cloud cover

Synchronized Position Hold, Engage, Reorient, Experimental Satellites (SPHERES) As seen in the picture to the right, the SPHERES project is being tested on our mission to Mars. We plan on testing the SPHERES on the way. Once there, our mission plans on testing plant growth in Martian soil. The plants will be tested for growth and for emission of O2 gas.

Drilling While on Mars, we plan on drilling deep into its crust to search for water, nitrogen, and maybe even hidden oxygen. We will be testing the soil the we dig in our laboratory. If water is found, we will electrolyze it to break it into oxygen and hydrogen. Although Electrolysis takes a lot of energy, we will be able to make more H2 fuel to continue powering the Ares V.
