2 Peter 3:9 The Harvest is Perishing

Message Thesis: God is not willing that anyone should perish. Message Objective: To show that people are perishing without God.

Harvest: 1.Souls who are disconnected from God. 1.Those who have not yet begun a relationship with God. 1.Those that are not saved.

2 Peter 3:9 “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”

Perish: per·ish per·ished, per·ish·ing, per·ish·es 1.To pass from existence; disappear gradually. 2.To spoil or deteriorate. 3.To bring to destruction; destroy.

People perish when: They disconnect from God. They decide to be deceived. They don’t involve God in their choices.

Longsuffering: long–suf·fer·ing adjective \- ˌ sə-f(ə-)riŋ, - ˈ sə-\ To suffer for a long time without complaining. To be very patient during difficult times.

Romans 5:8 “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
