The membership in the YF 21 is voluntary for young people from 15 to 35 years old and there is no membership fee. Most of the activities are realized by the financial and/or human recourses support of CITUB and its Workers Education and Training Colleagues. But the money are never enough => other channels for financial support: - project proposals at national and international level - partnerships with local foundation (esp. Friedrich Ebert Stiftung).

If trade unions want to reverse the negative trend in unionization, it's high time: - to stop saying that young people are the future of trade unions; - to put the youth in the priority list of their agenda and to find the rightest and shortest way to address young` workers problems and to increase their youth membership as well as to ensure adequate representation of youth in trade union's decisions making structures.
