4. Syllabus  This course entails the following subjects. Geology (Rocks, Minerals, Topography, Plate Tectonics) Astronomy (Constellations, Horizontal Systems, Earth/Moon/Sun Systems, Planets) Oceanography (Density, Currents, Topography) Meteorology (Weather symbols and maps, Severe Weather) Environmental (Water Cycle, Watersheds)

5. Grading Policy  Total Points System Used  Online Grading Viewing  Tests 100 points, Quizzes 50 points, Labs 20-40 Points, class work 20 points  Extra credit available after tests  Midterm January 10% of grade  Final Exam 10% of grade (not required to take if average is above 90%)

Yearly Objectives  Give your son/daughter a better understanding of the physical world around us.  Challenge them through hands-on and online labs.  Provide necessary skills useful in College; such as note-taking and notebook organization.  Encourage honesty, respect, cooperation, and collaborative learning.
