Name and describe all the Moon phases New Moon: Not visible Waxing crescent: Getting bigger, crescent 1 st quarter: Getting bigger, half visible Waxing gibbous: Getting bigger, more than half full Full Moon: Completely visible Waning gibbous: Getting smaller, more than half full 3 rd quarter: Getting smaller, half visible Waning crescent: Getting smaller, crescent

3. I have two puzzles for us to solve. One is on paper and one on the computer. Some of you will work on the puzzles and some will take turns completing the puzzle on the computer. Each of you will be solving your own paper puzzle. When you have solved your puzzles in your groups, share your results. Are they the same? Make sure your images are all going the same direction. Are the pictures in a order that we can see from Earth? For example, we do not go from new Moon to full Moon. Now the class will play game together.

4. Place an object in the middle. This is your Earth. Decide where the Sun is. Put the Moon phase pictures in order around your Earth to show where the Moon phase would be. Check our work as a class.
