Wide shot Broad angle of view increases the sense of depth and distance

POV (Point of View) shot The view of a scene or person as a character sees it

Insert A smaller detail of a wider scene

Reaction shot A persons reaction to the previous action – nodding, surprise, terror.

ECU (Extreme close up) A detail shot – part of a face

Low angle shot Makes character / item look dominating, taller

Establishing shot Wide shot that gives an overview of a scene so action and setting are shown

Close up A photograph or a film or television shot in which the subject is tightly framed and shown at a relatively large scale. An intimate view or description.

Two shot A shot where two people are shown

High angle shot A shot taken from a lower height to show lesser amounts of Dominance / status

Over the shoulder shot Often uses in dialogue scenes to highlight faces
