NORWEGIAN UNIVERSITY OF LIFE SCIENCES www.umb.no 2 2 Rena rensepark, Kåsmoen Rena infiltration system - Location Rena infiltration system is located a few kilometers north of Rena town. It is the largest soil infiltration system in Norway and has capacity for 8000 person equivalents (pe). The waste water is pumped from Rena town to the treatment system that is located in a glaciofluvial sand and gravel deposit, 40m above and 500m to the east of the river Glomma. After screening, the water is passed on to four alternating infiltration basins each of 1000m 2. Excellent treatment is provided as the water passes through the nearly 40m deep unsaturated zone.
