LIESSA’S: I learned that Alvin Ailey is such a noteworthy choreographer with great history. I admire his contributions to American culture and I thought his choreographies are very organic from mixing various genres with African dance. I love his and the company’s spirit and passion for dance. NICOLE’S: I believe that Alvin Ailey is one of the most influential Choreographers who have shaped modern dance in our world. I admire how he also used the gospel of the Lord as his inspiration to his piece. In addition, I find it very fascinating how his company don't only create pieces to entertain the audience, but to show us a glimpse of his memories of the past. Even though he has passed away, his company leaves off a memory of him showing his impact and success to our Dance World today.
