Step 1: Task Definition I need to buy a new pair of shoes. Let’s go out to dinner on Saturday! What dance classes should I take this year? I want to buy a new video game. Do you want to go to the movies tonight?

Information Seeking Strategies Determine all possible sources Select the best sources

Step 2: Information Seeking Strategies Where is the best place to find out about what is playing at the movies? Look in the newspaper Go to moviefone.com Call the movie theater

Location and Access Locate sources Find information within the sources

Step 3: Location and Access Find the newspaper around your house. Log onto the Internet. Go to the phone book, look up the number and call the movie theater.

Use of Information Engage (Read, Hear, View, Touch) Extract relevant information

Step 4: Use of Information *Write down the name of the movie. *Write down the times of the movie. *Decide when you will go to the movie. Matinee or Evening? *Decide what movie you will see.
