10 Ivy Tech Moves from Blue River Career Center to the Intelliplex Business Park  Classes began Fall 2011  Ivy Tech leases 7,709 sq ft on first floor  4 classrooms, 2 computer labs, and science lab  200 parking spaces allocation to Ivy Tech  City of Shelbyville generously provided funding for renovations, furniture, and scholarships

11 Fun Facts: Shelbyville Campus Spring 2016  Approximately 275 individual students are enrolled in courses at the Shelbyville campus  27 Courses Offered this Spring  386 Seats Sold  74 FTE(Full-time equivalent)

12 Additionally… 768 Shelby County residents are enrolled in the Ivy Tech system!

13 Indiana is not adequately positioned to respond to the demand for high- skilled talent and risks falling even further behind.

14 This data shows that unless urgent action is taken, there will be a gap of 19 percent, which equates to approximately 675,000 workers, between the education, skills and knowledge demanded by Indiana's economy and the talent supply in 2025.

15 Of the 675,000 additional workers who will need credentials or degrees… 75% will need a certificate or an associate degree

16 ADDRESSING THE WORKFORCE GAPS ON A LOCAL LEVEL In progress: # 1Machine Maintenance Repair Apprenticeship Program # 2 Advantage Shelby County Scholarship Program

17 New Machine Maintenance Repair Apprenticeship Program  Started Fall 2015  Ivy Tech partners with Blue River Career Center and local employers  Employers are sponsoring existing employees for enrollment  Ivy Tech obtained $100,000 in Perkins funding to purchase equipment to start the program; additional funding will be necessary to complete programming

18 New Machine Maintenance Repair Apprenticeship Program 17 students in the program are enrolled Basic Electricity this semester. The breakdown by company is as follows: Brazeway = 2 Freudenberg = 2 Knauf = 2 PMC = 2 Ryobi = 6 Triumph = 2 Individual student = 1

20 it is two year college scholarship program specifically aimed at raising educational attainment(currently at 27%) and workforce readiness in Shelby County What is… ?

21 How will… help a student to achieve their educational goals?

22   This scholarship fund will pay tuition and fees costs that will not be covered by state, federal or institutional aid   Increased course offerings at the Ivy Tech Shelbyville campus   Opportunities for community service hours   Each student will be assigned a mentor

23 ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS   Students must maintain residency in Shelby County and satisfactory academic progress   Must be a graduate of a Shelby County High School beginning with the class of 2016   Have a minimum 2.0 high school cumulative GPA   Be considered college ready as determined by Ivy Tech Placement Standards at www.ivytech.edu/assessmentwww.ivytech.edu/assessment   Enroll full-time in one of the following programs: o o Advanced Automation and Robotics o o Transfer General Education Core(1 yr degree) o o Associate of General Studies o o Business Administration Pledge to meet all program requirements and deadlines

24 IMPORTANT DATES January 15 th Must have completed the Advantage Shelby County application February 1 st Must have applied for admission to Ivy Tech Community College February 15 th Community Event for Completing FAFSA(Assistance Available) February 21 st College Goal Sunday-FAFSA Assistance at Ivy Tech Shelbyville March 1 st Must have attended a mandatory Advantage Shelby County meeting March 10 th Must have FAFSA completed May 1 st Must have attended a mandatory Advantage Shelby County Orientation August 1 st Must have completed at least 10 hours of community service
