1 2-3 Reflection and Refraction
LEARNING OBJECTIVE: I will be able to EXPLAIN the difference between reflection and refraction using this PPT. 1.REFLECTION happens when an object bounces off a surface.

2 Section 2-3 Reflection and Refraction
2. All waves obey the law of reflection and that is: “The angle of incidence equals the angle of reflection.”

3 Learning Objective: I will be able to explain the difference between Reflection and Refraction by using this PPT. Mirrors 3. A plane mirror is a flat sheet of glass with a coating of silver on one side that reflects light. 4. A concave mirror has a surface that curves inward, like a cave.

4 Learning Objective: I will be able to explain the difference between Reflection and Refraction by using this PPT. Mirrors (cont.) 5. A convex mirror’s surface curves outward.

5 Learning Objective: I will be able to explain the difference between Reflection and Refraction by using this PPT. REFRACTION 6. When light enters a new medium at an angle it will bend because it is slowing down. 7. The change in speed causes the ray to bend or change direction.

6 Learning Objective: I will be able to explain the difference between Reflection and Refraction by using this PPT. LENSES 8.There are two types of lenses, convex and concave. 9. Convex lenses will produce larger-than-life images and concave lenses will produce smaller-than-life images.
