HOW TO CHANGE A TIRE

Take out the following items for you vehicle: - Spare Tire - Jack - Tire Iron - Lug Nut Key(if applicable) Spare Tire Jack Tire Iron Lug Nut Key 2 MATERIALS

STEP 1 : FIND A SAFE PLACE TO CHANGE YOUR TIRE. Instead of stopping in the middle of the road, pull over to the side of the road. Pull into a parking lot, if possible. 3

STEP 2: APPLY HAND BRAKE OR EMERGENCY PARKING BREAK. Put vehicle in “park” position. Make sure hand brake is pulled all the way to the top. 4

STEP 3: LOOSEN LUG NUTS Apply tire iron firmly on lug nuts Turn the tire iron clock wise to loosen the lug nuts 5

STEP 5: PLACE JACK UNDER STABLE PLACE OF CAR. Consult owners manual for proper location. Raise the car 6 inches above the ground Finally, remove all lug nuts with tire iron. 6

STEP 6: REMOVING THE TIRE Remove the tire from the vehicle by pulling the tire carefully with your hands towards you. Place the flat tire inside the trunk or in the back of the vehicle. 7 Caution: The tire will be heavy and may be hot.

STEP 7: REPLACING THE TIRE Align wheel holes and studs. Thread lug nuts on studs by hand. Using the tire iron, tighten the lug nuts as much as possible. 8

STEP 8: LOWERING THE CAR Insure nothing is under the vehicle before lowering the vehicle. Lower the car slowly by releasing the jack carefully. Using the tire iron completely tighten the lug nuts. Return all tools back into proper place in vehicle. Remember to pick up your tools from the road. 9

TROUBLESHOOT Problem: What do I do if I do not have a lug nut key to remove the lug nuts from the tire? Solution: If there is no lug nut key, use your hands to remove the lug nuts from the tire. Problem: Where is the car jack located in the vehicle? Solution: See owner’s manual to find the car jack. Problem: What do I do if my vehicle does not come with a spare tire? Solution: If your vehicle does not have a spare tire, you may need to contact your dealer. Problem: Who do I call if I am stuck on the side of the road and my tire is flat and I do not have a spare tire? Solution: If your vehicle does not have a spare tire and your tire is flat, you may need to call a friend or AAA (American Automobile Association). 10
