2. Outbreak—Directions for set up 1)Roll a die to see which character you will play 1—Doctor, 2—Pilot, 3—Analyst, 4—CDC Director only one person per role ignore 5 & 6 and any previously rolled numbers 2) The person with the next birthday starts first 3) Taking a turn consists of: a) rolling a 6 sixed die to determine how many moves you get that turn. Moves are defined on the next page. b) choosing a number on the side of the board and following the actions described. 4) The game is over when a cure has been found and all disease has been removed (a WIN) or when you have 6 or more epidemics on the board (a LOSS) or you have used all the numbered boxes.

3. What constitutes a move 1)Moving to a space adjacent to the one you are in—this includes moving from one edge of the board to the other if the cities would be next to each other on a cylinder 2)Removing one disease point from any space you have moved to. If a cure has been found, you may remove all points from the city you are in. 3)Trying to build a research facility—you are allowed to build one with a roll of 5 or more on a 6 sided die (if you roll the correct amount press the blue button above that city) A maximum of 5 centers may exist in the world due to the expense of maintaining such equipment. 4)Trying to curing a disease—you must be at a research facility and roll a 6 to cure the disease. Once a disease is cured all research centers are immediately immune, and anyone may move to a city (one move) and remove all the disease in the city (second move) making the city immune. 4. Character’s Special Abilities 1)The Doctor—may cure ALL illness in a city that they are in as one of their moves. Once disease is cured moving to a city makes the city immune and removes all disease. 2) The Analyst—may build a research facility in the city they are in with a roll of 3 or more on a six sided die as one of their moves 3) The Pilot—may move any character to any city provided that the person wants to make the move. This counts as two of the pilots moves (one to move to pick up the passenger and one to move them. Once the disease is cured he may visit cities with no disease and drop off the cure (making the cities immune) 4) The CDC Director—may cure disease with a roll of 3 or more on the 6 sided die as one of their moves To return to game click here

5. Meaning of the symbols 1) to the left of a City means the city has a research center and you are allowed to attempt to create a cure – you may not build more than 5 research centers per game 2) the city has become immune to further infection REGARDLESS of what future events state — you must still remove remaining infections one at a time until a cure has been found 3) the city has had an epidemic as stated in an event —a city is marked with an epidemic if it has 5 or more points —the city may never become immune if it has had an epidemic REGARDLESS of what other events say —it may still have disease points removed —if you have 6 epidemics in a game the game is over and you lose To return to game click here R
