This study aims to develop a Point of Sales System for the Armed Forces of the Philippines Commissary and Exchange Service. General Objective
5
To develop an inventory system that focuses on product registration, incoming/delivery of stocks, updated product, and product price Specific Objective 1
6
Specific Objective 2 To automate the sales transactions between costumers using a barcode scanner.
7
To automate the reports generation of product delivery, issuance of invoice, and the daily and monthly sales reports Specific Objective 3
8
The study “Point of Sale” focuses on the process of automating the inventory of products and sales transactions with the use of barcode scanners for product registration, recording the incoming/delivery of stocks and the customer’s purchased items. In addition, only the authorized personnel are allowed to access the system and use the barcode scanner. The stock clerk, the manager, and the cashiers are given individual access codes with restrictions on accessing the system based on their job. Unauthorized personnel cannot access the system. Scope and Delimitations
9
The study does not cover the accounting system and payroll operations of AFPCES and the manner of payments through credit cards. The study does not include the use of sales invoice machine and will not cover the generation of sales invoice. Gift checks and cash money are considered by the store and our system regarding payments of goods bought. The study consists of the statistical reports such as records of available stocks, the summary of sales (daily and monthly) and product delivery. The proposed system will only validate products and items via barcode scanner or manual input of data. Scope and Delimitations (continuation)
10
Findings The researchers were successful in developing Inventory system and control the incoming/delivery of stocks. It also include the registration of product and pricing scheme that changes the price of a product depending on the supplier The transactions can now be used effectively by using barcode scanner, thus generating the amount receive, computes tax, and the change. The purchased items are reflected on the inventory system once updated. The researchers made the generations of sales reports easy and clear based from the given reports of the AFPCES. It also provides the invoice that includes the complete purchased products by the customer.
11
The stock clerk can record the delivered products and it automatically saves time and keeps track of the availability of an item It is faster to buy products from the cashier because the transactions can be done efficiently with the use of barcode scanner and the system itself The reports made by the researchers are efficient and reliable which helps the personnel track the product and cash flows in the inventory. The manager can easily monitor the user’s activities Conclusions
12
Recommendations The system can also be connected to accounting system module for reason that AFPCES still uses Microsoft Excel, resources and time cash flow should improve through better debt collection and inventory control The payment methods wherein the customer will issue payment cards to increase sales and convenience at the point of purchase.
