3 Law of Natural Growth or Decay Is a Differential Equation: y = ky. Growth if k > 0. Decay if k < 0. Only solution is y(t) = y 0 e kt, where y 0 = y(0) or the initial amount/number.

4 Law of Natural Growth or Decay - Simplified Distilled down, the differential equation from the previous slide gives rise to the exponential growth/decay model Where N o is the initial amount/number and k is the growth (k > 0) or decay (k < 0 constant).
