The average sixth grade student knows approximately 25,000 words.
The average high school graduate knows approximately 50,000 words. This means that average students learn roughly ,000 words a year (Graves, 2007). This translates to 8 words a day, 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year - including weekends or summers.
