Wellness* The process of acquiring and maintaining physical, psychological, emotional and social health Quality of life –(a person’s satisfaction with his or her looks and lifestyle)

PHYSICAL Refers to the fitness of your body Factors that improve physical wellness: –Get plenty of sleep –Eat a balanced diet –Exercise –Avoid destructive habits –Get routine check ups

Psychological/mental Refers to the way you feel about yourself, your life and the world around you. People in good psychological health express positive attitudes and often are in better physical health Signs of a psychological problem –Irrational fears –Stress –depression

SOCIAL Refers to the way you interact with others Your ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with family, friends, and co workers Building social skills will improve your social wellness –Praise and accept others –Accept rules and be responsible –Communicate well

EMOTIONAL Refers to the ability to understand ourselves and cope with the challenges life can bring Good emotional health involves handling anger, frustration, sadness, and disappointment in a positive way.
