Reporting ALWAYS TELL A TRUSTED ADULT straight away if you are upset or worried about something that is happening online Remember to SAVE ANY MESSAGES that upset you so you can show them to who you tell

Chat rooms If you see a messages that upsets you, TELL A TRUSTED ADULT When you log onto a forum or chat room, ALWAYS USE A NICKNAME, rather than your real name. NEVER GIVE PERSONAL INFORMATION AWAY.

Cyber bullying The number one rule to remember if someone is being nasty to you in this way is DON’T RESPOND AND DON’T REPLY SAVE ALL NASTY MESSAGES AND EMAILS so you can show them to an adult if you need to. If you feel you can’t talk to someone just yet, call childline in confidence on 0800 1111.

Email It’s important to remember that if you receive an email from someone you don’t know, NEVER OPEN IT. Make sure you ALWAYS DELETE EMAILS FROM PEOPLE WHO YOU DON’T KNOW.

File Sharing The best thing to do is ASK A TRUSTED ADULT to download something you want so you don’t get in trouble. DOWNLOAD sites can also contain NASTY PICTURES AND VIRUSES.
