Flash vs. Action script 3.0 2- Action script 3.0 Action script 3.0 (AS3) is the built-in programming language of flash. This object oriented programming (OOP) language performs at a high level with reach functionality.

Starting flash Step1 : Start Adobe Flash by choosing Start > All programs > Adobe Design Premium CS > Adobe Flash CS Step 2 : Choose Flash File (Action Script 3.0) Step 3 : Choose File > Save As, and enter the name(name.fla). Click OK Note : the extension.fla refers to a Flash Authoring document – a document that represents the visual composition of the interactive Flash application.

Flash Interface 1. Stage: The stage represents the work area where graphics are placed, visual layouts are organized and movement and interactivity are constructed. 2. Flash Interface 3. Timeline: You can organize and control the content of a movie over time. The timeline contains frames and layers. Frames : a frame represents an instant of time. Layers : a layer provides more flexibility to stage design, it is similar to a collection of film strips stacked on top of one another. Playhead: is used to identify the active frame currently visible on stage

Flash Interface 4. Toolbar: the toolbar panel contains all vector graphic tools provided by flash. These tools are categorized into the following five groups: Selection and transform Tools: Used to select and or transform an existing vector drawing. Drawing Tools: Draw, paint, create text, and erase objects. Modification Tools: Modify the currently selected tool Viewing Tools: Zoom And Pan. Color and Brush Tools: Used to select a brush color, shape and size.

Creating a vector Graphic as a symbol in the library Task 1: Understanding an Image The following tools will be used in this constructions : o Tool 1: The Brush Tool will be used to create line vector shape o Tool2 : The Selection tool will be used to select an individual line and to connect the curved lines o Tool3: The Pain Bucket will be used to dump color into the shape

Creating a vector Graphic as a symbol in the library Task 2: Create a vector drawing and storing it in the library Step1: Choose Insert > New Symbol Step2 : Enter the name of symbol (Star) in the Create New Symbol dialog box. Choose Movie Clip from the type. Click OK

Creating a vector Graphic as a symbol in the library Step3 : Choose the Brush Tool from the Toolbar Step 4 : Click the Stroke Color chip from the Toolbar. Step 5: Draw the shape. Step 6: Click the fill color chip from the toolbar Step 7: Choose the Paint Bucket tool. Step8: Click Scene 1to close the drawing. You will find yourself back in stage mode looking at scene1 and the shape will no longer appear Brush Tool Stroke Color
